My Perfectly Pink Picnic Basket

Sugar cookies frosted and dusted with sugar, shortbread cookies made from rich butter, mini cheesecakes topped with cherries, russian teacakes rolled many times in powdered suger, strawberries dipped in chocolate, and grapes dripping in sugar. These would be my snacks packed into my "Perfectly Pink Picnic Basket". A beautiful sunny afternoon, quilt spread on the ground, and my sweet husband to share the afternoon with (shortbread and Cheesecakes for him). Ahhhhhhhh......it sounds wonderful.

Sharing more goodies from my "Girlie Building"

A Collection of figurines fills one shelf in my curio cabinet, a gift from my dear mother in law.
I love these little trinket boxes, most are marked Japan. The vintage photo stand holds pictures of my mother and father when they were in there late teens.

A vintage cut glass plate holds a heart made from an old quilt.

I've just started to collect these little wooden angels, I love the two in front on rocking horses. I've got them displayed on an old handled glass plate.

A simple milk glass plate with a painted rose sits on a windowsill.

More treasures in my "Girlie Building"

Here are more pictures of stuff I've collected over the years. Most of the items are from garage sales, estate sales, some gifts, some childhood belongings! No matter where they are from I treasure them all and am glad to share them with you.

A little purse hangs on the wall with a beaded necklace and floral hankie tucked inside.

One shelf of my treasure cabinet holds milk glass vases with vintage beads hanging out, a vintage brush and mirror set, and vintage avon bottles. Topaz is my birthstone!

My sweet daughter surprised me this week with this Holt Howard set of Cat Shakers. I came home from work and she had been at a sale with grandma and grandpa and had thought of me! I've had my eye on this set for awhile so they were a pleasant surprise! My doggie picture. He's such a dapper fellow! I found this chalk drawing at a sale and fell in love with it. The really cool part is it is signed by the artist "Marcy 74" , the exact way I spell my name, often Marcy ends with an i or ie. I knew it was for me!

A little boy planter, he had such a sweet face and such soft colors I couldn't resit! That is all for now but there is so much more that I have to share, please keep checking back!

~My Little Girlie Building~

I've been wanting to share pictures of my little building for so long. It's been a work in progress for several years now. It even was used as a chicken coop one winter a few years back. We didnt have anywhere to keep the chickens over the winter so we lined the floor and up the walls with plastic put there pens in and it worked pretty good!
As you can see my little building is very girlie, with pink trim, white painted floors with splatted paint in pink, yellow, light blue and light green, then polka dots speckled here and there in the same colors. The curtains were brand new vintage from the 60's and I had been holding on to them for quite some time, they worked perfect! The vintage hanging light was purchased at a garage sale for a whopping $5.00, the glass is about 1/4" thick its really pretty when lit up!

Here are a few treasures in one corner, the pink dress was mine as a little girl, my mom was going to get rid of several of my clothes from my childhood I took them home and this was in the bag. The hanger its on is so cute, made from wood, irmi style, I just purchased it in Pennsylvania at an antique store.

A close up of a few more treasures. The kitty pitcher is made in Japan by Lipper and Mann, I loved her face, so awesome. She was a recent purchase from Pennsylvania also!

This is another shelf on the wall with some sweet kitties and a puppy. My building is a work in progress, but theres lots more to show and I want to share it all with you. It's a peaceful pleasant spot for me to enjoy. I think I need a name for my building, I may have to have a contest to "name my building". I'll let you know when!
